SleepRec Privacy Policy

SleepRec ("the app") is a free app, developed and maintained by Giovanni Trenta, an individual developer, out of passion and in his free time, with no advertising and no profit purpose. It is available on the App Store and Google Play. The app is provided "as is", and by using it you accept it as it is.

This page explains what information the app uses, where it is stored, and what is shared with third parties. By using the app you agree to this policy.

1. Summary

- Your sleep recordings and sleep analysis stay on your device. I do not receive them and I do not run any server that stores them.

- Optional backups go to your own private cloud account (iCloud on iPhone, your Google account on Android), never to me.

- The app shares only standard, anonymous usage statistics and crash reports with Google Firebase.

- Health data is never sent to Firebase or to any third party.

2. Data stored on your device

The app stores on your device, and I do not collect:

- Audio snippets recorded while you sleep (noise events such as snoring or sounds) and the analysis derived from them.

- Sleep sessions, statistics, alarms, sleep factors you add (e.g. food, hydration, exercise, work stress), and your daily mood check-ins.

- App settings and preferences.

Audio is recorded only after you grant microphone access and start a recording. You can revoke the permission at any time in your device settings.

3. Health data

If you grant permission, the app can read sleep, heart rate and resting heart rate [iPhone only: heart rate variability, blood oxygen and respiratory rate] from Apple Health (iPhone) or Health Connect (Android), and write sleep sessions recorded by the app. This data is used only to show statistics inside the app on your device. It is not sent to me, not shared with third parties, not used for advertising, and not sent to Firebase. You can change or revoke these permissions at any time in the Health app, Health Connect, or your device settings.

4. Third-party services: Google Firebase

The app uses Google Analytics for Firebase and Firebase Crashlytics. They c

- Standard automatic usage information such as app opens and sessions, app version, operating system version, and device model.

- An app-instance identifier generated by Firebase, and an approximate locaddress.

- Crash reports and diagnostic information: device model, operating system version, app state at the time of the crash, and technical logs.

This information is not linked to your name or identity. It is used only to understand how the app is used and to fix errors. It does not include your recordings, your sleep

5. Optional backups

- iPhone: if you enable backup in the app, a copy of the app database and of your audio recordings is saved in the private iCloud container of your Apple ID. It is managed by

Apple, and I have no access to it. You can delete it from the app or from

- Android: the app database and settings may be included in Android's automatic backup to your Google account, if you have that enabled. Audio recordings are excluded from the

backup. I have no access to it.

6. Apple Watch and Wear OS

If you use the watch app, sleep information, alarms and factors are exchanged directly between your phone and your watch. The Wear OS app also uses the watch accelerometer to

detect movement during sleep. This data is processed on your devices and is

The app uses local notifications and alarms generated on your device. On Android it can run a foreground service and ask to be exempt from battery optimization to keep recording

through the night.

8. Cookies

The app does not use cookies. Third-party libraries may use similar technologies for their own purposes.

9. Service providers

I use third-party providers only for the analytics and crash reporting descay access that information only to perform those tasks on my behalf.

10. Security

I try to protect your information with commercially reasonable means, but no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure. Your data is stored on your device and

in your own cloud account, so its security also depends on your device pass

11. Your choices

You can delete your data by deleting the app (and any backup you made). You can disable the microphone, Health and notification permissions at any time in your device settings.

12. Links to other sites

The app may contain links to external sites that I do not operate. I am nottent or privacy practices.

13. Children's privacy

The app is not directed at children under 13. I do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

14. Use of the app "as is"

The app is offered free of charge and for personal use, without warranties permitted by applicable law. I do my best to keep it working and to improveit, but I cannot guarantee that it will be error-free, available at all times, or suitable for every purpose.
